Asus, MSI and Gigabyte have raised the cost of their graphics cards

The rise in the value of Bitcoin in August led to an increase in the activity of miners and, accordingly, the demand for video cards. This, in turn, boosted the financials of the three largest 3D card makers, with Asus and MSI up 30% in August, and Gigabyte up more than 25% on a monthly basis. However, this did not save in any way from the increase in prices for their products.

Asus, MSI and Gigabyte have raised the cost of their graphics cards

According to the source, in China in September, video cards of these three manufacturers have risen in price by 3-7%, and on average – by 5%. We are talking about the models of the Ampere line, GeForce GTX 10 and AMD Radeon RX 6000. Interestingly, the GeForce RTX 3090, apparently, did not rise in price, as it is said about the increase in the cost of models “GeForce RTX 3080 and below.” On the one hand, the rise in price is not critical – some 5%, moreover, before that, in July, prices were falling much more significantly. But on the other hand, 5% is only a manufacturer’s margin. But there are also distributors, small wholesalers, retail. If at each stage of the chain the price rises by the same 5%, then at the output for the consumer it will already be 20%. In general, everything goes to the fact that video cards will continue to follow the course of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, that is (for now) will continue to rise in price.
