The participation rate in the first round of the parliamentary elections in France is expected to reach 67.5%, a record rate after decades, according to an estimate by the polling institute Ipsos. By 5:00 p.m. local time (6:00 p.m. Greek time), turnout stood at 59.39 percent, the interior ministry announced earlier. That percentage is now 20 points higher than the first round of the 2022 election. According to Ipsos, the turnout is expected to be the largest since the 1978 election, with the exception of the 1986 election which was held in one round.
