At least 25 people died after explosion that caused a fire at a gas station in its Dagestan region of Russiaas reported by the Russian news agency Interfax.
A previous report made public by the governor of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, via Telegram, said 12 dead and 50 wounded.
The Ministry of Emergency Response spoke for its part about sixty injured in the disaster in Makhachkala, capital of the Dagestan region, on the Caspian Sea, in the Caucasus.

THE fire had reached an area of 600 square meters, according to the same source, who clarified that 260 firefighters are working on the spot.
An Ilyushin Il-76 air ambulance was rushed by the Russian authorities to Makhachkala to pick up the most seriously injured and transport them to Moscowalways according to the emergency response ministry.
The disaster unfolded at 21:40 (local time and Greek time) at a gas station located on a federal highway, according to regional governor Melikov, who emphasized that an investigation is being conducted into the “causes and type of explosion.”
According to an eyewitness cited by the Russian newspaper Izvestia via Telegram, the fire broke out in an area where cars were parked before spreading to the gas station.
