At least 500 Brazilians sought guidance from the embassy in Israel after Hamas attacks

At least 500 Brazilians contacted the Brazilian embassy in Israel to obtain guidance following the attacks by the Islamic group Hamas, classified by the United States and the European Union as a terrorist group, according to Brazilian government sources.

There is no information about the number of people who wish to return to Brazil. The majority of those who sought representation are tourists.

The government must prepare a list of those who wish to return to the country by Monday morning (9). The Air Force has six planes destined for the repatriation operation.

According to the Air Force Command, the first repatriation takeoff should be made on Monday (9) or Tuesday (10), depending on the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The flight will depart from Tel Aviv airport.

There is a KC-30 aircraft, with capacity for 230 passengers, ready to take off from Natal towards Rome, Italy. The trip to Israel should be made this Sunday (8).

There is another KC-30 destined for the mission and four more planes, two of each model: KC-390, with capacity for 80 passengers, and the VC2, provided by the Presidency of the Republic, with capacity for 40 passengers.

As reported by Itamaraty, there are an estimated 14 thousand Brazilians residing in Israel and 6 thousand in Palestine. There are 30 Brazilians living in the Gaza Strip, and another 60 are estimated by authorities in locations in the conflict zone.

Israel’s security cabinet has officially declared a state of war, according to the government’s press office this Sunday (8). More than 600 people have died so far in clashes between Israelis and Palestinians.

Three Brazilians are missing

At least three Brazilians are missing in Israel after attacks by the Islamic group Hamas.

They were at a music festival in the southern region of the country, which was the target of the first attacks by Hamas. According to CNN found out, there is at least one Brazilian injured as a result of the conflicts.
