At least six people were killed and nine wounded in a terrorist attack that took place this afternoon in Jaffa, south of Tel Aviv, with gunfire and the use of a knife, Israeli police said. Police said two “terrorists” started the massacre on the Tel Aviv tram and continued on foot before being shot dead by civilians and inspectors who used personal weapons. There has been no claim of responsibility, but Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said they were Palestinians from the West Bank city of Hebron. Hardliner Smotrich said he would demand from the cabinet that family members of the suspects in Gaza be deported and their homes destroyed. The attack came minutes before Iran launched a barrage of missiles at Israel. Earlier, Israeli media reported eight dead.
