At least 83 Palestinians killed in Israeli raids – 17 children among victims

The Islamic movement Hamas announced today 16 new deaths from Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip, which is under his control, bringing the number of Palestine who have been killed since the start of hostilities on Monday, May 10, the APE reports.

A total of 83 people were killed, among them 17 children, and 487 were injured, Hamas said after another night of shelling in the enclave and rocket fire into Israeli territory.

At the same time, the Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gandz ordered a “massive” reinforcement of security forces in Israeli cities with a mixed population of Jews and Arabs due to the violent incidents that have taken place there in recent days.

“We are in a state of emergency (…) and it is now necessary to massively strengthen forces on the ground,” the Israeli defense minister said, announcing the withdrawal of ten battalions of border guards who usually operate in the occupied West Bank.
