Civil Defense updated, this Tuesday (3), the list of ongoing fires in the state of São Paulo. In total, there are eight cities with fire outbreaks, one more than last Monday.
The ongoing incidents are taking place in Jardinópolis, Dois Córregos, Altinópolis, Monte Alegre do Sul and Bom Jesus dos Perdões. In the municipalities of Pedregulho, São Simão and Pompéia, the fight against the flames is being carried out with the support of aircraft.
The fires in the Serra do Mar have been extinguished, but the region remains on alert for the possibility of new forest fires, according to the corporation’s Fire Risk Map.
Closed parks
The government of São Paulo has closed 80 conservation units due to forest fires in the state. The announcement was made this Sunday (1).
The Forestry Foundation, an agency linked to the Secretariat of Environment, Infrastructure and Logistics (Semil), decreed the emergency closure of parks in the metropolitan region and in the interior of São Paulo.
According to the ministry, the decision was taken in response to the growing risk of forest fires, which endangers both visitors and conservation areas. The measure is valid until September 12.
