At least five people were killed in Ohio, it is believed that the victims were targets

It raises the death toll to at least five from the shooting incident in Ohio, in the West Jefferson suburb of Columbus.

Two Columbus-based television stations reported that at least three people were found dead in a building fire, while others were found dead outside the same building. although the exact number of dead has not yet been confirmed.

According to AMPE, both TV stations, WSYX and WCMH, cited West Jefferson Police Chief Chris Floyd as their source of information. However, Reuters was unable to contact Floyd and another police source said he had no information about the incident.

Floyd added that the fire incident was a dead end, which leads him to believe that the victims were the target, broadcast by WSYX.

At the same time, the WCMH reported that the scene of the crime was a house in West Jefferson, a city of about 4,000 people west of Columbus.

Police were alerted to the shooting by a passerby who called the emergency number 911, according to WSYX. Police have cordoned off the crime scene and investigations have begun to locate a suspect and evidence, the television station added.

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and Madison County Sheriff’s Office are said to be assisting West Jefferson Police in the investigation.
