At least four people die after Russian bombing in Kharkiv, governor says

At least four people died and four others were injured after Russian bombing of Ukraine’s second-largest city, Kharkiv, on Tuesday (30), according to information from the regional governor.

“As a result of the bombing of the central part of Kharkiv, at least 4 people died and 4 others were injured,” Oleh Synehubov wrote on the messaging app Telegram.

Russia, which invaded Ukraine on February 24 in what it calls a special military operation, deliberately denies targeting civilians even though its attacks have devastated Ukrainian cities.

Ukrainian armed forces increase artillery in south, says UK

The Ukrainian armed forces increased the rate of artillery fire in southern Ukraine, and long-range precision strikes continued to disrupt Russian resupply, according to a statement from the UK Ministry of Defense.

The Russians have been making efforts since early August to reinforce their troops on the west bank of the Dnipro River around Kherson, the ministry said in its daily intelligence bulletin.

Ukrainian forces were bombing ferries that Russia was using to supply a pocket of territory on the west bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region, Oleksiy Arestovych, senior adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, said earlier.
