At least seven dead and 15 injured in the collapse of a multi-storey apartment complex in Belgorod

At least seven people were killed and 15 others injured when an entire section of a high-rise apartment building collapsed after being hit by a Ukrainian missile in the Russian city of Belgorod, near the border with Ukraine, Russian officials said. Footage of the collapse scene posted by the governor of the Russian province of the same name, Vyacheslav Gladkov, shows that at least 10 floors of the building have collapsed. “The city and province of Belgorod are targets of massive shelling by the Ukrainian armed forces,” Gladkov said. “As a consequence of the direct hit the apartment complex received from a projectile, the entire facade of the building from the tenth to the first floor collapsed.” The Russian-language Mash news channel on the Telegram messaging app reported that at least seven people were killed and 15 injured.
