At sea with Michele Bravi: “The whales, the true songwriters of the ocean”

«Whales are in effect the true songwriters of the ocean and our sea. They sing to communicate and to seduce. Their way of communicating is also very similar to pop music: there is a sort of refrain that is repeated in the sounds they emit and within them there is a library of our sounds ». Michele Bravi, star of X Factor and talent of Amici Speciali, has music in his blood and, from today, the sea in his heart.

On the occasion of Earth Day, which is celebrated on April 22, the singer of The short life of confetti he spent a day at sea, off the Savona coast, in the renowned Cetacean Sanctuary, in an attempt to discover the enchanting world of whales up close.

Accompanying the musician was the marine biologist Arianna Mancuso and the researchers of the association Menkab: the breath of the sea, that works in support of scientific research and environmental education activities. The research wasn’t too lucky. The whales unfortunately they did not show up but, at sunset, a bench of dolphins he greeted the two mission boats, playing with the wake of the boats returning to the harbor.

The Secrets of the Whales
The day at sea was organized for the launch of the original Disney + series The Secrets of the Whales, now available on the streaming platform. Filmed over the course of 3 years in 24 locations around the world, the series stars whales photographed by famous National Geographic photographer Brian Skerry, and teaches how these wonderful cetaceans are much more complex and similar to us than we ever imagined. An intimate story, which very few have had the good fortune to be witnesses… until now.
