On the occasion of the issue that has been created by the non-payment to date to about 2,500 companies in Attica, the aid that has been approved through the action of the Attica RDP 2014-2020 to provide working capital to small and micro companies affected by the pandemic , we would like to clarify the following:
First, neither the Attica Region nor the competent managing authority is responsible for the delay that has been observed. The goal of the Attica Region was the completion of all the procedures and the payment of the aid to all the companies, within 2021. However, difficulties that arose in the execution of the Public Investment Program and which go beyond the responsibilities of the Region, do not allow the completion of the implementation. the action within the initial timetable and the payment of aid to those companies that have submitted a disbursement request in the last 1.5 months.
Secondly, according to information from the Ministry of Development and Investment, the payment of the aid will take place in early January.
Thirdly, we point out that to date, approximately € 195 million have been disbursed and more than 7,300 small and micro-enterprises have been supported, out of a total of 9,855 companies whose funding applications have been approved, to receive a grant of up to € 40,000.
Fourth, as announced by the Attica Region in the previous period, for the action of providing working capital to small and very small companies that were affected by the pandemic, a total of 42,254 requests were submitted, with a total budget of almost 1.2 billion euros. The great interest shown by the companies for this action of the Attica RDP 2014-2020, reflects the degree to which they have been affected by the pandemic and the correct decision of the administration of the Region to proceed with the implementation of the program. The Region, through its competent Services, proceeded immediately to the evaluation of the financing applications and to the approval of 9,617 companies. At the same time, the examination procedures of the objections that were submitted and an additional 238 companies were completed in a short time, thus bringing the total number of those who receive aid to 9,855.
We ask for the understanding of the representatives of the companies that have not yet received the money that have been approved, a fact for which the Attica Region and its competent services are not responsible in any case.
