At the Council of Ministers of Employment in Luxembourg, K. Hatzidakis

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Kostis Hatzidakis, is going to Luxembourg today, in order to participate in the Council of Ministers of Employment of the European Union, which will take place tomorrow, June 16, 2022.

The Council of Ministers is expected to adopt, inter alia, the Directive on Adequate Minimum Wages, following the successful conclusion of negotiations with the European Parliament. The French Presidency will also keep abreast of developments in the European Commission’s proposal for a Platform for Improving Working Conditions.

In addition, ministers will discuss issues related to the European Semester 2022, the Porto Objectives on Employment, Skills and Poverty Alleviation, and the access of people with disabilities to the labor market.

During the working lunch, an exchange of views will take place on the measures taken at European and national level to protect displaced persons due to the war in Ukraine.
