At the Grammys, will Beyoncé finally win the long-awaited best album award?

Pop star Beyoncé, who has won more Grammys than any other female artist, has never taken home the coveted album of the year trophy at the music industry’s top honors.

That could change this Sunday (5), according to industry experts and awards analysts, although his victory is not a certainty in a formidable and wide-ranging category that includes Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, pop singer Harry Styles, singer and flutist Lizzo and Swedish disco-era group ABBA.

The winners will be announced during a ceremony that will be broadcast live by the North American broadcaster CBS and transmitted by Paramount+ from 22:00h, Brasilia time.

Beyoncé enters the Los Angeles event with nine nominations, including an album of the year nomination for the danceable “Renaissance.” She has already won 28 Grammys throughout her career and could break the all-time record of 31 statuettes this Sunday.

But the main prize still eludes her. Acclaimed 2016 album “Lemonade” was beaten by Adele’s “25”, prompting the British vocalist to say onstage that Beyoncé deserved the honor.

Beyoncé “is poised to be the most awarded Grammy Award winner. There’s almost no way she won’t break the record,” said Jem Aswad, Variety’s deputy music editor.

Other Beyoncé nominations include Record and Song of the Year for “Break My Soul.” If she wins at least four awards, she will surpass the late classical conductor Georg Solti as the most awarded artist in Grammys history.
