At the hammer luxury hotels in Mykonos, Gythio and Corfu

By Matina Harkoftaki

Tourism may be considered one of the heavyweights of the Greek economy, but this does not mean that the “clouds” of economic problems do not affect tourism companies. It is noteworthy that a significant number of hotels, located in both island and land destinations, are among the new auctions, which are scheduled to take place in the near future. Among the tourist units that stand out are a luxury four-star hotel in Gythio, a five-star hotel in Mykonos town as well as accommodation in Corfu, Kos and Kefalonia.

On June 26, the electronic hammer will strike – unless there is no suspensive action – for the four-star hotel Margo Luxury Suites, which is located on the beach of Montenegro in Gythio, Laconia, with a starting price of 2.245 million euros. The tourist accommodation, which operates normally, has been built on a plot of land with a total area of 2,471.36 sq.m., which is even and buildable and is located within the settlement. The hotel has a capacity of 67 beds, 20 apartments / 42 rooms and consists of three building units, swimming pool and outdoor areas. According to the assessment report, the buildings are in good condition with the level of maintenance being characterized as normal. In addition to the building units, the surrounding area is very well landscaped (the unstructured area of the plot is about 1,200 sq.m.), ensuring the comfortable movement and accommodation of visitors with layers of stone slabs and elaborate flower beds.

The five-star Three Shades Mykonos

On July 13, the five-star boutique hotel Three Shades Mykonos is expected to face the electronic hammer with a first offer price of 3.48 million euros, while Intrum Hellas is in a hurry. This is the former Madoupa hotel, which was renovated and renamed Three Shades Mykonos. The luxury tourist unit, which consists of 25 rooms, 50 beds, is located on the south side of the country of Mykonos and operates normally during the summer season, however in 2021 it remained closed. The plot in which the hotel has been built has a total area of 4269.39 sq.m. while according to the building permit of 1984 a seven-storey hotel with a total area of 1032.20 sq.m. has been constructed. However, the external autopsy, which took place last January, showed that the unit has been completely and luxuriously renovated and has restaurant, pool and bar. In addition, during the autopsy it was found that the main building is completed externally, however in the surrounding area work is being carried out, which is ongoing. However, it is foreseen by the repair works to be ready for the next season.

An auction has been launched on May 13 for the two star hotel Andromeda Corfu, which has 27 apartments (19 double apartments, 8 maisonettes) and 35 rooms (62 beds) and is located in the community of Peroulades in the municipality of northern Corfu. The starting price has been set at 1.228 million euros while Cepal Hellas is in a hurry. The auction concerns a plot of 5,589.43 sq.m., in which a hotel unit has been constructed, which consists of four main buildings, a restaurant, a bar, a mini market, a swimming pool, a jacuzzi and a biological treatment plant.
