At The Lanesborough London, tea is just like in Bridgerton

The second season of Bridgerton come on Netflix for all of us who can’t help but follow the stories of Daphne, Duchess of Hastings, and love the intrigues of the Regency Age English nobility. If we want to participate in the period painting also in person, the latest news comes from the wonderful The Lanesborough London, a luxury hotel member of the Oetker Collection, which offers a Bridgerton-inspired Afternoon Tea created in collaboration with Netflix and Shondaland which promises to make us feel a little like protagonists of the romantic drama that makes us dream.

The menu

The appointment is in the elegant dining room of the hotel with spectacular bas-reliefs and Wedgwood porcelain, which dates back to the Regency era in which Bridgerton is set. Here the head pastry chef Kevin Miller it will serve a menu with those great tea classics that we have seen and imagined tasting episode after episode. On the table, together with English cult like i chicken sandwiches with coriander and mayonnaise made with Clarence Court eggs (a kind of institution in England for the eggs of rare hens that live free in the meadows), and then salmon and yogurt, roast beef, scones with cream and jam, there will also be five desserts dedicated to the protagonists of the series, including new entries and pillars.

The special sweets

It starts with Queen’s Diamond dedicated to Edwina Sharmaplayed by Charithra Chandran, the most anticipated of the new characters, who will turn heads to Antony Bridgerton, who will be the real star of this new season in which Shonda Rhimes has promised that the absence of the super sexy Duke of Hastings will not make us suffer too much. For her Miller has thought of a chocolate with honey with a white chocolate ganache that will be served in a jewelry box in the same color, lilac. The Rake instead it is the creation dedicated to Anthony, to his libertine nature and his typical and charming look with a starched white shirt and cream-colored tie: it is a chocolate biscuit with milk chocolate mousse and a passion fruit heart finished with a dark chocolate glaze, a “collar” with chocolate chips and a “tie” made with passion fruit Chantilly cream. Is called A True Love Matchinstead, the dessert dedicated to the nice queen: an elegant Charlotte cake made up of alternating layers of a light vanilla sponge cake, strawberry jam and vanilla cream. A sweet dedication to Lady Whistledown, a chronicler who knows everything in terms of love and betrayal: it is a cake inspired by his inkwell and his quill, with pistachios and a coating of milk chocolate and cocoa butter. In the end All is Fair in Love & War (namely In love and war, everything is allowed) is for the Bridgerton family: a blue dessert with a bee, it’s a rose water cheesecake with a heart of raspberry jelly, on a crumble base covered with white chocolate.

The cocktails

To drink, in addition to tea, a cocktail inspired by Regency Gin Punch, must of the Recency era: the Bar Manager of The Lanesborough created it, Mickael Perron, his name is The Pall Mall. It is a cocktail with gin and white port with citrus notes served in a spectacular way: with a glass teacup with a colander filled with dried hibiscus flowers and garnished with a floating lotus flower arrangement. If you want there is also the non-alcoholic version prepared with Atopia – a distillate of orange, juniper, coriander, angelica root and lemon – served with an infusion of Butterfly Pea
Flower. Do you want to try? Book online at www.oetkercollection.com/hotels/the-lanesborough. The cost ranges from 60 to 80 pounds. Meanwhile, here are the images of the Bridgerton Tea at The Lanesborough London:
