At the starting line 4 infrastructure projects amounting to 380 million euros from the RRF

4 major projects funded by the Recovery Fund are entering the start-up phase.

These are the projects related to the Bramianou and Tsiknia dams, the groundwater improvement projects of Amvrakia – Amfilochia and the water pipeline Preveza-Arta-Lefkada, with a budget of 380 million euros.

The auction of the large irrigation project that will be financed by the Recovery Fund, with a budget of 70 million euros, is expected within the summer.

This is the project “Land improvement projects of lakeside areas of Amvrakia – Amfilochia and Valtos A ‘Phase”, which aims to utilize the agricultural area, which includes arable land, but also olive groves – orchards, as well as the flood protection of the area with projects proposed in stream sections.

Although final studies have been prepared and approved for the above project and there are approved environmental conditions, cadastral diagrams and tables were not prepared for all the expropriations required for the execution of the project.

The project concerns the construction of sewerage, drainage – flood works for the irrigation of approximately 35,000 acres in the area of ​​the municipality of Amfilochia, while the duration of the contract is 36 months.

The water supply project of the Prefectures of Preveza – Arta – Lefkada is entering a competitive phase, which includes water intake projects, construction of large water pipelines, pumping stations and storage projects for water storage and distribution.

This is a project with a supra-local character, as it is expected to cover the water supply needs in areas of the Municipalities of Arta, Nikolaos Skoufa, Ziros and Preveza in the Region of Epirus, Lefkada and Meganisi in the Ionian Islands, and Akti – Vonitsa in the Region of Western Greece. The project’s budget is 133m euros.

Finally, the auction of the Bramianos Dam enters the final stretch, a budget of 70 million euros, concerns the construction of improvement works in the existing Bramianos Dam, the construction of a new dam in Myrtos and storage projects for water supply (irrigation and environmental reasons).

The aim of the project that has been included in the Recovery Fund since last October, is to significantly strengthen the water potential of the Bramianos Reservoir, to have better management of the water element of the wider area of ​​Lassithi and to protect against floods.

The fourth major project concerns the construction of the Tsiknia Dam in Lesvos, as well as water treatment plants and networks. It is a critical development project for the island of Lesvos, as it will meet the needs of the city of Mytilene and much of the island, mainly in water supply and irrigation.

In terms of budget, it amounts to 106.8 million euros.
