The Greens recorded their lowest opinion poll percentage in years in the latest poll on behalf of the BILD newspaper. Party leader Ricarda Lange attributes the poor performance to voter disillusionment after the pandemic. According to a new poll by the INSA Institute on behalf of BILD, the Greens lose another half a percentage point and are limited to 10.5%. The party was last in the same poll in April 2018, at 10%. “There is a lot of work ahead of us,” Ms Lang admitted in her “summer” interview on German public broadcaster ZDF’s second channel. “I think the worst that could happen is that the citizens teach you a lesson and then have the impression that you didn’t even notice,” said the Greens president, referring to her party’s unfavorable results in the recent European elections.
