Blockchain security company SlowMist has confirmed the fact of a hacker attack on the AToken multi-currency wallet.
Wallet users report stolen funds, writes SlowMist on Twitter. The company account encouraged users to transfer their funds to other wallets. SlowMist says that AToken management has not yet commented on the situation.
It is noteworthy that the AToken team sent out a message on December 20 last year, asking customers to stop using the service until December 24, and also not to use wallets that import AToken. Otherwise, the team warned, users will bear all possible risks and losses themselves.
Large successful hacker attacks on cryptocurrency platforms have been going on in recent months. At the beginning of the week, it became known that the Meter cross-chain protocol was hacked, as a result of which the attackers stole $4.4 million. At the end of last year, the Vulcan Forged gaming service lost about $100 million thanks to hackers.
Recently, Reuters reported that one of the main sources of funding for North Korea’s nuclear development is hacking cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets.
