A 14-year-old teenager was arrested after stabbing a 15-year-old classmate in the back. The incident occurred at the Irmã Teresa school in Palhoça, in Greater Florianópolis.
The teenager was charged with an infraction analogous to attempted murder and will be presented to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the police, notes were found in the teenager’s notebook that show that the attack was already being planned.
“Notes were found in one of his notebooks, where he said he could no longer bear the bullying and racism he suffered in the schools he attended. He asked his parents for forgiveness and said he was going to commit a massacre,” reported the police director of Greater Florianópolis, Pedro Mendes.
Witnesses told police that the teenager also tried to attack other classmates. “In the morning, he went to school armed with a knife,” the police chief said.
The Regional Education Coordination of Florianópolis issued a statement lamenting the incident. “The Military Police (PM) acted quickly to control the situation and restrain the attacker, a student at the school, who was taken to the police station. One student was superficially injured. He was treated at the scene and taken to the hospital by SAMU. He is fine and is now with his family.”
