At least 50 people died and 100 were injured in an attack on a railway station in eastern Ukraine, in the city of Kramatorsk. Ukrainian officials say Russian forces are regrouping for a new offensive. Russia denies the attacks.
Lula’s deputy Alckmin
Former São Paulo governor Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) was officially nominated by the Brazilian Socialist Party as a pre-candidate for the vice-presidency of the Republic on the ticket with former president Lula (PT). “We are going to join forces for the reconstruction of our country. We see today a government that attacks democracy and institutions”, said Alckmin. The PT national executive will need to evaluate and endorse Alckmin’s nomination for the ticket.
MEC’s CPI request has the necessary 27 signatures
The request for the installation of a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) to investigate possible irregularities in the Ministry of Education (MEC) already has 27 names, the minimum necessary to proceed with the request to open investigations. The last name confirmed was that of Senator Veneziano Vital do Rêgo (MDB). Now, the request can be read in the Senate Plenary, and the president of the House, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD), will decide whether or not to open the CPI.
Petrobras reduces gas cylinder prices by 5.58%
