An attack from Russian drones to the Odessa port city in the Black Sea during Tuesday night (15) injured three people, caused fires and damaged houses and civil infrastructure, officials from southern Ukraine said on Wednesday (16).
Several Russian aviation and artillery morning attacks on the southern city of Kherson also killed one person and wounded three others, reported local authorities.
In a publication on Telegram, Ukraine’s emergency service reported that three people were injured and several fires occurred in Odesa as a result of the attack at night.
In Odessa, residents searched the rubble of several destroyed houses. One woman swept the windows of a church after they were broken.
The Ukrainian Air Force said it had knocked down 57 of the 97 drones launched by Russia at night. Another 34 did not reach their targets, probably due to air defense contracted.
It was not specified what happened with the remaining six devices.
Emergency services also reported that an attack on Kamianske, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, injured two people and damaged a pipeline. The fires had already been erased in the morning.
Reuters could not check the reports independently. There were no immediate comments from Moscow.
Both sides deny the target of civilian warry that Russia began with its large -scale invasion of Ukraine more than three years ago.
In late March, the United States announced that they had closed separate agreements with Ukraine and Russia to suspend their attacks on the Black Sea and against each other’s energy targets.
However, the two nations repeatedly accused themselves of violating the truce over attacks on energy facilities.
