Two simultaneous attacks killed two police officers and left many injured this Monday (20) in regions of southern Colombia, little affected by the internal conflict.
In Morales, in the Cauca region, two police officers were killed in an explosive attack on a police station at around 6am, according to local media.
At the same time, a motorcycle carrying explosives detonated in Jamundi, another city in the Cauca Valley region, leaving 12 people injured, including two police officers and three young people, the press reported.
The explosion damaged nearby homes and vehicles.
The governor of Vale do Cauca, Dilian Francisca Toro, said on Platform X that the attack took place near a hotel where dozens of police officers were staying.
Authorities blamed it on dissident guerrilla member of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, Jaime Martinez, according to local media.
The country's six-decade internal conflict has killed more than 450,000 people.
