More than R$ 12 million (12,907,328.99) were purchased in the auction of five of the 11 properties owned by the money changer Dario Messer, known as the “changer of money changers”. Among the properties purchased was a 149m2 apartment in a luxury residential complex in Barra da Tijuca, in the west side of the capital, valued at R$1.9 million.
The complex, in addition to a swimming pool, playground, barbecue, laundry and gym, also has a sports court, sauna, spa, party room and gourmet space.
To get an idea of luxury, the monthly fee for the condominium is approximately R$3,000. In addition to this property, a land with more than four thousand square meters of usable area (4,319.14m2), also located in Barra da Tijuca, valued at just over R$1 million reais (R$1,153,602.99), was won for an amount four times greater: just over R$ 4 million (4,215,000.00).
The event takes place online and was authorized by federal judge Marcelo Bretas. Properties that do not receive bids will be offered in a new electronic auction, scheduled for 23 November.
Dario Messer’s collaboration agreement was ratified in August 2020 with values considered unprecedented in the Brazilian Courts. The money changer renounced assets valued at R$ 1 billion, which includes high-end properties, works of art, as well as goods and land related to agricultural activities in Paraguay.
