The cut of 7,500 jobs by the end of 2029 was decided by the Audi automaker, in the context of a resolution program aimed at saving at least one billion euros annually. Employee Council President Gerg Slagbauer noted that the employers’ side had initially suggested the cut of 12,000 jobs and clarified that the cuts would not affect production, leading to a restriction of bureaucracy. The first 6,000 posts will be abolished by 2027 and the rest by the end of 2029.
