Audi R8 successor will be fully electric

Audi was among those automakers who announced they were going green this year. Back in the summer, the head of the German auto brand, Markus Duesmann, announced that the last new Audi car with an internal combustion engine would be released in 2026. Therefore, the news that the successor to the Audi R8 will be equipped with an electric motor did not come as a surprise.

Audi Sport head of marketing Linda Kurz confirmed to reporters that the Audi R sports line will be electrified. And the new model, which will replace the current generation of the Audi R8, will also be fully electric. The top manager of the brand did not disclose the features of the successor to the Audi R8. But earlier on the Web, information has already appeared that Audi wants to leave the R8 brand in the past and the new model will receive a completely different name. The technical features and timing of the appearance of the new Audi electric car are still behind the scenes.

Linda Kurz also told the Roadshow edition that the company plans to transform the Audi R family. True, she warned that this is a goal for the next decade and it is not worth counting on the fact that Audi will present something unique from this series next year.
