Audi, “riding” towards electrification

The mountains of Alta Badia, last July 4th, were the setting for the 34th edition of the Maratona dles Dolomites, a unique event in the international cycling scene. Theme of this year’s competition, which involved thousands of cyclists, was “Are”, which in Ladin means art, but which on this occasion meant much more: the art of pedaling and imagining a future in which sustainability becomes the best way to live in harmony with the nature that surrounds us.

Among the protagonists in the saddle, also some special guests such as the champion Kristian Ghedina, the mountaineer Hervé Barmasse, the holistic coach Johanna Maggy, the content creator Tudor Laurini in art Klaus and the athlete Mattia Casse. Accompanying the race once again was Audi, for the fourth consecutive year mobility partner of the event. A consolidated collaboration of views and values given that, with this occasion, the house of the four rings he again testified to his idea of progress. An idea that starts right from respect for the environment, celebrated in the presence of some of the most incredible works of art of nature: the Dolomites.

Audi has in fact supported the Marathon with a fleet of electrified models available to the organization of the event, aimed at significantly reducing the environmental impact. The car pool included both the full electric Audi e-tron and e-tron Sportback, also in the high performance S version, and the Audi Q5, A7, A8 and Q8 plug-in hybrid, a meeting point between sustainability, performance and technological refinement.

The path towards zero emissions will lead Audi, by 2025, to count on over 20 full electric models, and, in the long term, to a carbon neutral balance of all the Brand’s activities by 2050. A roadmap that marks a clear and decisive transition towards the electric age.
