France seems to be retaliating, as it announced on Friday night that it is recalling them ambassadors in the USA and Australia, following the agreement of the latter two with the United Kingdom which mainly includes the delivery of nuclear submarines to Canberra.
According to APE – BPE, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced tonight that it is recalling the country’s ambassadors to the USA and Australia for consultations.
The reason for the withdrawal of the diplomats was the “extremely serious” announcement of the strategic cooperation agreement between Washington, London and Canberra, which led to the cancellation, by Australia, of the submarine supply contract from France, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Yves Le Drian.
“At the request of the President of the Republic, I decided to immediately recall our two ambassadors to the United States and Australia for consultations in Paris. “This unusual decision is justified by the unusual seriousness of the announcements made on September 15 by Australia and the United States,” the minister added in a statement.
