«Aurora»: Giovanni Caccamo restarts from art and from Willem Dafoe

It is from the suggestive setting of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence that Aurora, the short film based on the new piece by Giovanni Caccamo, shines in all its strength marking the first collaboration of the Sicilian artist with MUS.E and with the Municipality of Florence. The main purpose of the operation is the search for new artistic languages ​​useful to communicate the wealth of the patrimony of the Florentine civic museums which, in fact, sees the doors of the Salone dei Cinquecento, the Sala delle Adienze and the Sala degli Elementi open, not only in Caccamo , but also to the dancers of the Company New Ballet of Tuscany directed by Cristina Bozzolini. The partnership between Caccamo, singer-songwriter who has always been attentive to the dialogue between the arts, e MUS.E, which has been working for years to enhance the Florentine heritage, was born from the common love for art and from the sharing of new ways to promote the Italian artistic heritage.

It is no coincidence, in fact, that Aurora is presented a few days after the reopening of the museums, of theaters and places of culture, given that the project has a very close correlation with the period we are experiencing, sharing the hope that a “new dawn “. The short film, directed by Enea Colombi for Borotalco.tv, is the prologue of Word, Giovanni Caccamo’s new album produced by Ala Bianca and distributed by Warner Music Italia to be released in September. A journey through music, prose, cinema and literature that he will see as his own starting point Aurora which, like every song on the disc, will be preceded by an instrumental introduction and a text read by an exceptional voice: in this case, it is the lyrics of the song I’m that, written by Franco Battiato and Manlio Sgalambro and interpreted by the American actor Willem Dafoe. A further collaboration that will be told, together with the genesis and development of the album, in a documentary produced by Sky Arte.
