A man stole 42,000 rapid coronavirus antigen test from a warehouse in Sydney, as announced today, Wednesday (19/1) by the Australian authorities, at a time when there is lack of test.
More specifically, the robber entered the warehouse located in the suburb of Mascot yesterday Tuesday afternoon and “took the tests”, said a representative of the New South Wales police without giving further details. “South Sydney police have launched an investigation into the theft of rapid antigen tests,” he added.
THE Dominic Perotet, the Prime Minister of New South Wales, condemned the incident, recalling that Australia is experiencing a lack of testing for covid-19. “At a time when everyone in our state is making incredible efforts to ensure the safety of the people, making sacrifices, what a shameful act,” he said. “The police will catch you”, he stressed.

According to the Australian Consumer Protection Agency, covid-19 tests are sold at the price of 22 Australian dollars (about 20 euros), according to the ΑΠΕ-ΜΠΕ.
The Australian Trade Union Council has threatened to go on strike this week if vulnerable workers are not given free antigen tests. The Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison however, he defended the test management policy for covid-19 and did not succumb to requests for their free distribution.
A shipment of 52 million antigen tests will be delivered to Australia this month from Asia and the US.
