Australian Prime Minister Albanese calls for an end to Julian Assange's imprisonment

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called today, Tuesday 21/5, to end Julian Assange's imprisonment, a day after the WikiLeaks founder was given the right to make a final appeal against his extradition from Britain to the US. A British court yesterday, Monday 20/5, allowed Julian Assange to appeal the decision to be issued, as Washington wants the Australian, 52, to stand trial for revealing US military and diplomatic secrets. After the decision, the Prime Minister of Australia today repeated his call for an end to the prosecution of Julian Assange, while adding that his prolonged imprisonment “doesn't do any good”. “We will continue to work (…) to secure this result,” Mr Albanezi continued, speaking to the press, adding “enough is enough”.
