Australian version of “The Office” gets premiere date

Prime Video announced this Monday (19) that the Australian version of the series “The Office” will be released on the day October 18th on the streaming platform.

The 13th adaptation of the production that made Michael Scott, Steve Carrell’s character, famous in the North American version, has as its protagonist Hannah Howard, played by Felicity Ward — the first female boss in the series’ history.

Howard, the managing director of packaging company Flinley Craddick, receives the news that they are closing their branch, forcing everyone to work remotely. Her team must deal with their drama and the creation of impossible goals set under the guise of keeping the work family together.

The cast includes (“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”), Steen Raskopoulos (“The Duchess”), Shari Sebbens (“Music of the Soul”), Josh Thomson (“How to Please a Woman”), Jonny Brugh (“Thor: Love and Thunder”), Susan Ling Young (“The Reckoning”), Raj Labade (“Appetite”), Lucy Schmidt (“The Promise”), Zoe Terakes (“Talk to Me”), Pallavi Sharda (“The Twelve Jurors”) and Claude Jabbour (“Last King of the Cross”).

The first British version of the series was released in 2001 and explores the dynamics of the corporate world through a boss who doesn’t do his job and displays prejudiced behavior and unmotivated employees.

The story had more adaptations besides the Australian one, namely “Stromberg” (2004), “Os Aspones” (2004), “The Office” (2005), “La Job” (2006) and “Le Bureau” (2006).

The eight episodes of the series arrive on Prime Video on October 18th — with the exception of US accounts.
