A young woman suffered corneal damage and lost her natural eyelashes after having an eyelash extension procedure in Australia. She was told by doctors that she could face permanent vision damage, according to the news site.
According to the website “Kidsport”, the girl found the professional on Instagram and made an appointment after seeing the photos of the eyelashes applied to other clients.
During the procedure, she asked that the Egyptian volume be made, which has the main characteristic of being 5 threads in 1, but her eyes started to burn and her eyelids were glued together.
“My eyes were sore, swollen and red. My vision was blurry and I had yellow goo coming out of one of my eyes,” she said.
At the hospital, doctors removed several eyelashes from inside her eyeball and suggested that she cut them all off, but the girl sought help on a Facebook group and found a beauty specialist. The professional was unable to remove the glue from the extension with the most common solvent that is used, so they believe that the product used was not the correct one for the procedure performed.
“I am currently having eye treatment, three times a day and I am using two different eye drops. I was diagnosed with corneal abrasions and lost some of my natural eyelashes. My eyes are still very sore and sensitive and my vision is blurry,” she said.
After the situation, the girl sought out the professional who performed the procedure and asked for a refund. She paid $130 [R$ 649,8]but only got $90 [R$ 449,9] back.
“My advice to people is to check reviews and not just rely on photos on their Instagram accounts.”
The Instagram profile of the professional who performed the procedure has several photos of clients with reddish eyes.
