United States authorities released photos, this Tuesday (10), of Luigi Mangione in police custody.
The 26-year-old man accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson appeared in court in Pennsylvania for a hearing and screamed as he arrived at the scene.
The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections released two “mugshots” of Mangione.
He did not plead guilty at his first court appearance on Monday night (9), which took place just hours after his arrest.
On Monday night, police in the city of Altoona, Pennsylvania, released a photo of Mangione in a jail cell after being detained at a McDonald’s.
After appearing in court, Mangione was transferred to the State Correctional Institution in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.
An attorney for Mangione’s defense said the defense team will have to overcome a lot of important evidence in the Brian Thompson murder case.
Mercedes Colwin said the fake ID that police believe Luigi Mangione used to check into one before the shooting attack, the document expressing grievances against the health insurance industry and a potentially 3D-printed gun — all found with the suspect when he was arrested — are “very problematic,” she said.
