Kiev authorities have warned residents of the Obolon suburb in the northwestern part of the Ukrainian capital to stay away from the streets as “hostilities” approach.
“As hostilities approach, Obolon residents are urged not to go outside,” local authorities warned in a statement.
Earlier, it was reported that fighting was raging in this suburb of Kiev, while exchanges of fire and explosions were heard.
The Ukrainian Interior Ministry had indicated on its Facebook page that it was a sabotage operation by Russian forces carried out by a military reconnaissance unit.
“We ask the citizens to inform us about the movements of the enemy, make Molotov cocktails, neutralize the enemy!”, The message read.
