O Autistic Pride Day is celebrated this Tuesday (18) and in commemoration of the date, singer Marlon Nicolas, who has autism spectrum disorder (ASD), released his new single “Coração Azul”.
The artist, who in his Instagram biography mentions that he is the first autistic singer and composer in the Amazon, celebrated the arrival of his new song on digital platforms.
“I’m very happy to release this song. It is a message for all autistic people who have a dream and want to achieve it even with their limitations and obstacles along the way. The important thing is not to give up”, he mentions. Listen to an excerpt below:
In addition to the new composition, Marlon owns songs such as “O Cara Perfeito”, “Se Liberte” and “Garota Abusiva”, which are also available on streaming.
As with so many topics, art is one of the most effective ways to raise awareness and reach more people. Therefore, productions for the small or big screen that feature characters with autism can be a good option for those who want to better understand ASD or just see themselves represented.
ASD is a neurological development condition, defined by difficulties in communication and social interaction and the presence of repetitive or restricted behaviors or interests. The severity and presentation of symptoms in each individual varies, according to the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics (SBP).
