Another brand from China has appeared on the Russian car market. This is Skywell, founded two years ago by Chinese telecommunications giant Skyworth Group.
Skywell approached the debut in Russia thoroughly. The brand has already opened its first showroom – it is located in Moscow on Kotelnicheskaya embankment. And by the end of the year, Skywell plans to launch another 30 car dealerships in million-plus cities across the country, including St. Petersburg, Kazan and Krasnodar. By the end of next year, the brand expects to sell at least three thousand of its cars in Russia.
The Chinese automaker decided to start its expansion into the Russian market with one model – the Skywell ET5 crossover on an electric platform. It is already available for pre-order, and full sales will start in November, immediately after the car receives a Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS).
The Skywell ET5 is a 4.7 meter mid-size crossover with a five-seat interior layout and a spacious trunk. It is driven by a 204-horsepower electric motor mounted on the front axle and is powered by a 72 kWh battery, which allows you to drive up to 520 km without recharging. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 7.9 seconds and top speed is limited to 150 km/h.
Russian buyers of the Skywell ET5 will be offered a choice of two configurations. The basic version of Comfort is estimated at 4.48 million rubles. For this money, six airbags, a leather interior with electrically adjustable front seats, keyless entry, a multimedia system with a 12.8-inch screen and a rear-view camera, as well as an adaptive cruise control system are relied upon. For 4.98 million rubles, they offer a Luxury package, which, in addition to the above options, also has a panoramic roof, laser headlights, an all-round visibility system and horizontally folding front seats.
Following the Skywell ET5, the HT-i hybrid crossover, a distinctive feature of which is a power reserve of 1267 km, should appear on the Russian market. His debut in Russia is scheduled for next summer. Prices will be announced closer to this time.
