After a record year, where it recorded a 30.5% increase in turnover and a threefold increase in net profits, the management of the Autohellas group expects that in 2022 the size will be even greater as the pandemic escalates and the tourist traffic in Greece is expected to improve. but also in the other countries where it operates.
“For 2022, the emerging de-escalation of the pandemic that leads to the gradual lifting of restrictive measures creates restrained optimism, mainly for the course of tourism.
Similarly, the revival of the economy offers prospects for further improvement in all areas of the Group’s activity “, the group’s management notes in the 2021 financial report.
The pandemic is still affecting travel but to a much lesser extent than last year. The indications for the tourist season are good at the moment and the chances of seeing a season starting in April are very high.
The optimistic estimates but also the increased air seats to the country refer to tourist arrivals from the second quarter of the year that will approach the numbers of 2019, although we should be restrained as long as the pandemic is present.
The company is proceeding with a plan with a specific investment plan to renew and increase its fleet, the size of which will depend on whether the positive signs remain.
If the optimistic estimates are finally confirmed then the company’s forecast for 2022 is that the sizes will be improved compared to the previous year, with the improvement coming largely from the second quarter of the year onwards.
“The year 2022 finds us firmly optimistic for a further increase in our size. Despite the continuing market volatility due to the above problems at the beginning of the year, our primary goal remains the development of long-term leasing programs for Individuals and Freelancers, the increase but and the support of our customers for their transition to zero-emission electric cars (private cars & light trucks), the automation of our processes and systems.
Our anthropocentric approach and communication and of course the continuous training of our employees always aims at the best service of our customers and the provision of optimal solutions and services “, also notes the management of the group.
The exhibition in Ukraine
The Autohellas group started operating in Ukraine in 2015 with the right to use the Hertz brand. The activity in the country has a turnover of only 686 thousand euros, ie 0.1% of the consolidated turnover.
Respectively are the percentages in the total assets of the group. Based on the above, the management of the group estimates that any development will not affect the financial figures.
“After the events of the last days, the group is in frequent communication with the employees, having as their exclusive priority their safety.
We hope that there will be no duration and expansion in the situation that has been created in order for the effects on the market and the economy in general to be as small as possible “, the financial report typically states.
