Autumn style: the 13 2023 fashion trends to keep an eye on

Here we are. Many of us are still intent on enjoying the sun on the beach chairs or walking at high altitudes, but our heads are already there: we think in autumnon return, on departure… e what we will wear. Or, rather, what we should and will want to wear to face autumn 2023 on the right foot (and with style).

Here then, directly from catwalks of the great stylists and those of the most talented young creatives, 13 essential trends to enter the next season in the coolest way possible. From the return of the great winter classic, the coat black, at the raging of redfrom the prints floral (but with a dark soul) to jackets with shoulders XXL. Until to culottes worn without skirt and ai micro bras for the craziest end-of-year parties. Perhaps not all 13 trends will conquer all of us. But shall we bet that at least one will be the right one for us?

The culottes (and the skirt remains in the wardrobe)

Off with the pants, off with the skirt. In their place, shorts reduced to the minimum terms, so as to look like items of lingerie. But precious, embroidered, special. To be worn on equally special occasions. And the legs – protagonists for once – are grateful.

Studs & Co.

The studs that decorate light slip dresses and original overcoats are not rock at all. If nothing is as it seems, much less are they, new decorative elements of next autumn’s most iconic garments.

Very wide shoulders (and narrow waist)

The waist is emphasized more and more and the shoulders, already voluminous, become even more imposing. For strong-willed jackets and coats with which to march decisively into the coming winter.

Metal flashes (but fluid)

More than gold and silver, we will wear mercury: liquid, impalpable, elusive. Metallic is no longer synonymous with rigidity. But its exact opposite.

The tie is the new must-haves

From a bulwark of the most classic and formal menswear, to an instrument of seduction for a completely new femininity. The new life of the tie speaks of gender fluidity, but above all of freedom, imagination and creativity.

Far from draping: this season the stylists indulge themselves in knotting strips of fabric to mark the waistline, invent a neckline, create gatherings. Without even touching the sewing machine?

The bra is at an all-time low

They cover the bare minimum, and maybe – sometimes – not even that. A few centimeters of fabric for the most seductive and original bikinis of the season. The occasion of use? The end of year holidays are not that far away. And not even Brazil with its carnival, after all…

Long live the flowers (but on a black background)

Shy little bouquets of roses and daisies blossom in the shade, against rigorously black backgrounds. The dark soul of flower power is revealed on the catwalk, and autumn romance blossoms on the most beautiful dresses of the season.

Art Prints

The most famous masterpieces of modern and contemporary art come out of museums to be transformed into dresses and coats. But that’s not all: very colorful outfits are the masters, created with brushstrokes by the stylists. Just like they were works of art.

Tartan forever

College? Not only. Punks, too. But the tartan, this year, is also much more. The traditional Scottish fabric demonstrates, as never before, all its unprecedented ductility. Even managing to surprise us.

The revenge of the black coat

After years of (relative) oblivion, the coat takes its revenge on capes, capes and down jackets. He is back to stay, and starts again from the rigor and elegance of black. With all due respect to the royal from all over Europe who want it to be very colourful.

Black and white in an optical version

Big or small squares. Polka dots. Diamonds and lozenges. Lines in all directions. Games of joints of rigorous geometries for a fashion inspired by the Op Art of the Sixties.

I see red

Energy and passion. And the desire to get noticed, leaving a mark. Because when someone dressed in red enters a room, all the others magically disappear. One more good reason to ensure that the autumn wardrobe is total red.
