Auxílio Brasil consignee will have interest of 3.45% per month

Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF) will charge interest of 3.45% per month on the payroll loan of Auxílio Brasil, which starts offering this Tuesday (11) to beneficiaries of the social program. The assignable margin, that is, the discount on the benefit amount, is up to 40%, and the minimum monthly installment is R$ 15.

According to the public bank, the Auxílio currently has 21.1 million beneficiary families, but there are conditions for the loan to be authorized. The person responsible for the benefit can contract the credit, as long as it has been received for more than 90 days.

In addition, the beneficiary cannot have failed to attend the summons of the Ministry of Citizenship, if called.

The vice president of retail business at Caixa, Thays Cintra, said that the bank will offer the payroll with financial education initiatives to encourage a rational use of resources. “Our recommendation is that those who have a debt with a higher rate take out a loan,” she said at a press conference to detail the new program.

Caixa is one of the few large banks in the country to offer payroll-deductible aid, at least initially. The others have signaled that they consider the line to be risky, given the situation of social fragility in which many of the beneficiaries are.

The vice president of Rede de Varejo da Caixa, Júlio Volpp, told the press conference that loans are available for contracting at branches, lottery and other service channels of the bank, which includes the Caixa Tem app. “For the comfort of the beneficiary, he can enter the application that he already knows, and enter the loan conversation”, he pointed out.

The acting Vice President of Government, Tiago Cordeiro, stated that CEF will receive from Dataprev, every month, the beneficiary data, will make the discount according to the installments of each loan and will generate the Aid payroll already with the discounted value. “In all contracts signed up to the 31st, the discount takes place on the November sheet”, he said.
