The average price of diesel fell 1.09% at service stations in Brazil this week, according to a survey by the regulator ANP this Friday (10), after Petrobras reduced the value of fuel sold to refineries.
Diesel S10 (with lower sulfur content) was sold at an average of R$ 6.32 per liter in the week, down 1.09% compared to R$ 6.39 registered a week earlier.
Petrobras reduced the average price of diesel to distributors by 8.89%, starting last Wednesday, after a decline in oil prices in the last week left the oil company’s values above international markets.
The transfer of Petrobras adjustments in the refineries to final consumers at the service stations is not immediate and depends on a series of issues such as distribution and resale margins, addition of biofuels and taxes.
Regular gasoline was sold on average at R$ 5.08 a liter in the week at Brazilian stations, a decrease of 0.8% compared to R$ 5.12 registered in the previous week, showed the ANP.
Hydrated ethanol, a direct competitor to gasoline at the pumps, was sold at R$3.80 per litre, down 0.5% from R$3.82 the previous week.
