Average of polls shows Kamala with 49% support and Trump with 47%

A new average of surveys made by CNN including polls conducted since the Democratic National Convention, finds a tight race, with no clear leader, between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.

Harris is averaging 49 percent support in the new polling average, while Trump is at 47 percent in surveys conducted between Aug. 23 and Sept. 6. The new average is largely unchanged from the previous average, which found Harris at 50 percent and Trump at 48 percent.

The poll average includes the four most recent national polls measuring the views of registered or likely voters in the 2024 presidential general election.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, are effectively tied in the final weeks of the election, according to a national poll conducted by The New York Times and Siena College.

Trump is one percentage point ahead of Harris (48% to 47%) according to the poll released Sunday (8), a difference that is within the poll’s three-point margin of error.
