Avincola, Elena Faggi, Folcast and Gaudiano, the New Proposals of the first evening

Avincola, Elena Faggi, Folcast and Gaudiano: they will be the ones to open the dances of Sanremo Festival 2021, the first to baptize the Ariston Theater empty for the first time while waiting for the first 13 Big ones selected by Amadeus for this edition to perform. The mechanism, as always, is relentless: the four young people will immediately be subjected to the vote by the Opinion Jury, the Press Office and the Televoting, which will account for 34%. The first 2 classified songs will enter the final on Friday 5 March, while the other 2 will be automatically eliminated, without the possibility of being fished out later.

But who are the first four New Proposals selected by AmaSanremo and ready to make their way into the first Festival in the pandemic era of history?

The first to go on stage will be Gaudiano, born in 1991, who will propose the song Gunpowder dedicated to the premature death of his father. “It’s the song I never wanted to write, but also the piece that allowed me to talk about these issues today in Sanremo »explained Gaudiano, adding that the writing came straight away as only the most acute pain can be, relentless and fulminating. It will follow him Elena Faggi and his I do not know, song that talks about that phase of falling in love in which you don’t know if you are reciprocated, «when we usually make our ‘mental films’ and travel between illusions and doubts». It is a song that Elena wrote a few weeks before the outbreak of the first lockdown, a period that allowed her to metabolize and tell her experience in a broader way, becoming the spokesperson for a more varied humanity.

Shortly after it will be the turn of Avincola, highly decorated Roman singer-songwriter – he won, among others, the Stefano Rosso Award and the MEi Cinema Award – which brings Goal!, a song that immediately made its way into the hearts of critics and that tells of the desire to get involved which is also the basis of a football match, “where everything can change in an active way and the result overturned”. Finally, the last to perform among the New Proposals of the first evening of the Festival will be Folcast, stage name of Daniele Folcarelli, with his Find out, a song that speaks of a very common condition nowadays, namely the discomfort of those who have lost themselves in the stillness of empty interior rooms and are forced to deal with an imposed and partly desired loneliness. Even Folcast, who grew up in a family of musicians, is not new to the pop world, since last summer he was the protagonist of the opening act of Daniele Silvestri’s live at the Festival Suoni di Marca.
