AvtoVAZ, which only yesterday resumed production after a downtime earlier this week, announced that on March 5 the company will suspend production of vehicles at production sites in Togliatti and Izhevsk.
AvtoVAZ said that these decisions are being made in connection with the ongoing crisis in the supply of electronic components and in order to prevent a significant decrease in the level of income of the company’s employees.

On March 5, 2022, they announced a downtime day with pay. March 9, 10 and 11 were declared idle days with payment in the amount of two-thirds of the average monthly earnings. Schedule for the coming weeks will be announced later.
As we have already reported, the CEO of Renault Group, in a recent interview with the Financial Times, said that new sanctions against the Russian Federation due to the situation in Ukraine could hit the automotive industry and even lead to a halt in assembly plants.
