AvtoVAZ will release a youth model at the price of LADA Granta

In the foreseeable future, the LADA range will be replenished with new models aimed primarily at the youth audience. AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov spoke about this in an interview with Forbes.

The head of the domestic auto giant said that by the end of 2024, a new car will be put on the conveyor of the enterprise. It will be a whole family of B-segment in three body types: sedan, station wagon and Cross station wagon. The model in the company is conventionally referred to as the “New Granta” and they expect that it will be popular with young people.

“Young people have less money than older generations. And then we will make them a good offer. The design and options that we can saturate the car within this price category will be aimed at young people. In fact, a more modern Granta while maintaining availability. With such parameters, the proportion of young people among buyers will be high,” Maxim Sokolov said.

The head of AvtoVAZ also shared production plans for 2023. He promised that after the ERA-GLONASS system, airbags and air conditioners, during 2023, the anti-lock braking system will return to the equipment of the currently produced LADA Granta, Niva Legend and Niva Travel models. Next spring, the company will start assembling the updated LADA Vesta NG model, the first test samples of which have already been produced, and in the fall, the updated gasoline Largus will be put on the conveyor. And in 2024, AvtoVAZ plans to resume the production of cars with automatic transmission.

As for the electric LADA e-Largus announced this year, its first experimental batch is planned to be released at the end of next year. The model, as Sokolov specified, will be assembled at the Izhevsk site of AvtoVAZ.
