Award-winning director admits to sexually assaulting multiple women – 'I was under the influence of alcohol or drugs'

One of Croatia's most famous directors, Dalibor Matanic, has admitted in a lengthy Facebook post that he sexually assaulted several women, sparking a backlash in his country. “All this happened during periods where I was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Our work is very stressful – but that certainly does not justify my behavior,” writes 49-year-old Matanic, adding that he decided to enter a rehab center. His “confession” came, as reported by APE-MPE, after there had been many press reports on this subject. Interior Minister Davor Bozinovic announced that a preliminary investigation into the case had begun.
