The former YouTuber Jout Jout is the theme of the journalists’ new podcast Beatriz Trevisan and Chico Felitti titled Outgoing: Life Outside the Internet. Away from the internet four years ago, she spoke about the change in life after leaving the channel with more than two million subscribers in an interview with the series.
Currently, the Rio native lives in a city in the interior and has decided to live her life offline. According to Beatriz, who visited Jout Jout’s house, the place has no bathroom, running water and is far from large urban centers.
“I stopped working. I am completely dedicated to the home and realizing that I never knew how to dedicate myself to it. Like, washing clothes, making food, washing all the dishes, sweeping, mopping,” said the former YouTuber.
Jout Jout spoke about the value she found in home care and the impact the internet can have on a person’s life.
“What I have enjoyed most is being a housewife . It requires courage, but it’s really good. Taking care of your home, taking care of yourself, your family and seeing your family taking care of you. Everyone taking care of the house and taking care of themselves. When we leave the internet, this thing of controlling everything all the time, we let life control us”, he said.
“I feel [saudade] of various things [da internet]. It was very good. I had a lot of fun, it was a lot of fun being a YouTuber, the way I was, at least. I came to Earth to talk, that is my mission”, he added.
The former YouTuber is now the mother of a one-year-old boy and stated that this is a subject she doesn’t want to talk about on the internet.
