OSOM Privacy has just released a new teaser image for its upcoming OV1 smartphone. OSOM is a privacy-focused brand made up of the former creators of the Essential PH-1 phone. Recall that the abbreviation OSOM stands for Out of sight, Out of mind, consonant with the word awesome (“cool”, “amazing”). The model name OV1 stands for OSOM Vault 1.
The image shows the unique USB-C cable as well as the bottom front of the new smartphone. This cable has a physical switch that allows the user to decide whether to allow data transfer over the cable or just charging.

We can see that the device has thin bezels on the sides and a more massive chin. The Osom data protection app, the Brave browser, and the Signal messaging app are installed on the phone.
OSOM OV1 will have a stainless steel body with a display protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. In addition, the phone will receive a ceramic back cover. The phone will be physically larger than the Essential PH-1, but with a larger battery that should last “all day”. The dual camera will receive Sony image sensors with a resolution of 48 and 12 megapixels. On the front, there will be a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
The price of the smartphone will be less than $1,000.
