The developers of Axie Infinity, the popular Ethereum blockchain game, continue to develop their ecosystem. Users can now block AXS tokens for staking and receive rewards.
The staking program was launched on the morning of September 30th. The rewards themselves will begin to accrue only 24 hours after the start of the process. This is done to ensure that players around the world have the same conditions for receiving rewards. Rewards are awarded in AXS tokens.
“In the months and years ahead, staking will ensure that the community is the one who makes decisions about Axie’s future development, including the use of funds from the project’s treasury,” the developers said in a statement.
Currently, 58 million AXS tokens are in circulation, and their maximum number is limited to 270 million.In the coming months, another 2 million tokens will be distributed as a reward for participants in the staking program.
Also, the developers will distribute 800,000 AXS among 10,000 community members. At the current rate, this is $ 50 million. Tokens will be received by the oldest and most active members of the community, whom the developers called “missionaries”.
Previously, one of the founders of Axie Infinty Jeff Zirlin (Jeff Zirlin) shared plans to develop the ecosystem around the game. Soon it is planned to launch a decentralized exchange for the exchange of NFTs and tokens, expand the ecosystem with new projects, and the game will be transferred to the community.
