B. Johnson: ‘I will tell Putin to get off the cliff’

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said today that he would tell Russian President Vladimir Putin to “step off the brink” of Ukraine in a conversation with him this week.

“What I will say to President Putin is, as I have said before, that I think we all really need to get off the edge of the cliff, and I think Russia needs to get off the edge of the cliff,” Johnson told journalists.

Referring to the rise in energy prices, the British Prime Minister said that the Minister of Finance of the government of Richie Sunak is considering launching a package of measures to help the world cope with rising energy costs.

“We are all aware of the pressures that people have on the cost of living, and this is driven (…) by the inflation you see in the world, especially energy costs,” he said.

“The finance minister is considering a package of things to mitigate energy costs,” he added.
